Hey, fight fans! We’ve got a solid weekend of fisticuffs on deck. There are three titles at stake, so let’s figure out who is fighting when and how we can watch the action.
Bellator MMA returns with a thirteen fight card from Temecula, Calif. The prelims will begin at 7 p.m. EST on Spike.com. They have some interesting names, like Benji Radach, who hasn’t fought since 2010, taking on undefeated Ben Reiter at middleweight. There’s also a personal favorite of mine, Joe Taimanglo, all 5-foot-4 of him, facing Antonio Duarte in a bantamweight contest. Plus, the final prelim bout is a light heavyweight clash between Razak Al-Hasan and Virgil “Rez Dog” Zwicker in what should be a good scrap.
The main card starts at 9 p.m. EST on Spike TV. The co-main-event could have title implications as top bantamweights Eduardo Dantas and Mike “The Marine” Richman square off. The main-event will be middleweight champ Brandon Halsey defending his belt against Kendall “Da Spyder” Grove.
To quote Killer Mike, “My fist to your face is f*ckin Folgers,” and I hope everyone enjoys punch-coffee because UFC Fight Night 66 starts bright and early at 7 a.m. EST on Fight Pass. The prelims continue on Fox Sports 1 starting at 8 a.m. EST. The main card will begin at 10 a.m. EST on Fox Sports 1. The main-event is a featherweight clash between Frankie “The Answer” Edgar and Urijah “The California Kid” Faber.
HBO Boxing: Golovkin vs Monroe Jr
Saturday ends with fireworks as undefeated boxing champ Gennady “Triple G” Golovkin takes on Willie Monroe. Golovkin looks to extend his knockout streak, and you can watch the action starting at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.
Finally, we have Shooto Brasil, which has been added to Fight Pass, and their latest event will be available on FP starting at 6 p.m. EST. A featherweight title is on the line, but I don’t know much about the fighters, though I expect to see some of them on upcoming UFC Fight Night Brazil cards.
