If anyone should be immune to the “Small World” phenomenon, it’s Adele. She tours the world to play for a fanbase that is so large, you can basically use her name and “the recorded music industry” interchangeably. But even Adele stumbles across people she knows in the oddest places. Case in point: this fan she pulled onto the stage during a show in Amsterdam.
After calling up a two young fans onto the stage at random, the 25 singer was shocked to realize that she knew one of the girls.
“I knew you from when you were a baby! Oh my God!” Adele shouted after she recognized one of the girls, who is the daughter of one her cello players. Check out her reaction in the Instagram post up top and a close-up of her shock below.

It’s a good thing that she doesn’t seem to have as much hatred for cell-phone snappers as she does video camera bootleggers, or else we might never have seen this moment.
In spite of her superhuman vocal talent, Adele comes across as one of our “most human” pop stars, with every crack in her elegant crooner facade causing her fans to love her more. She last revealed herself to be one of us in concert when she forgot the lyrics to “A Million Years Ago” and let loose a bit of sailor talk. Hey, if anything, it shows it can happen to the best of us.
