Hey, remember when we were all mad at Ariana Grande because she licked a bunch of donuts and said she hated America? Yeah, probably not, because that was a few outrage cycles ago, which is like four decades in internet terms. But yeah, that was a thing that happened, and Ariana wants to let you know that she’s really sorry about the whole thing.
Yes, Ariana appeared on Good Morning America and cleared the air about Donut-Licking-America-Is-Bad-Gate. It was pretty much your standard, generic celebrity apology (even though she’s already apologized for it). She told us that her behavior was “offensive” and that there was “no excuse” for it, and that she felt bad for letting all of her fans down. Look, it’s not like she couldn’t have been sincere — I’m sure she was — but we’ve gone through this process dozens of times now, and it’s hard to feel all that much emotion when a famous person says what essentially amounts to “Hey, sorry I did that thing that all you little people are mad about. Can I please continue to be famous?”
Of course, the subject was only discussed for a minute before Grande started talking about her new fragrance, which seems completely appropriate. You can watch the video here.
