Big Boi Performed ‘Mic Jack’ With Sleepy Brown On ‘Fallon’

Daddy Fat Sax season is in full effect, as Big Boi continues to promote his upcoming album, Boomiverse. The much more active half of Outkast stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night to perform “Mic Jack,” his latest single with Adam Levine. Levine must have been busy with The Voice or something, because the Dungeon Family’s own Sleepy Brown stepped in for the hook. The track sounded especially nice with the Roots helping out and adding some live instrumentation.

Boomiverse is set to arrive some time this summer. Big Boi kicked off the promotion last week by dropping two songs. In addition to “Mic Jack,” he also released “Kill Jill” featuring Killer Mike, another member of the Dungeon Family, as well as Jeezy. Gucci Mane, Cee Lo Green, and a verse from the late Pimp C are also expected to appear on the album, judging by Big Boi’s social media presence.

Boomiverse will mark Big Boi’s third solo album and his first since 2012’s Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors. It wasn’t a five-year dead period, though, as he joined forces with Phantogram to become Big Grams and release a self-titled EP in 2015. He also reunited with his old partner Andre 3000 for an Outkast live reunion run in 2014.

Watch the Fallon performance above, and look out for Boomiverse to drop this summer.
