Faithful listeners of the FilmDrunk Frotcast will remember that I was the first person in America to ever mention an Ylvis song (the 2011 jam “Work It”), and there’s absolutely no way to determine whether I’m telling the truth or not, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. That’s why I’m also taking credit for the fact that the Norwegian music comedy trio recently had a Billboard hit with “What Does the Fox Say?” and now Ylvis is doubling down on the success in America with “Massachusetts.”
Equal parts “Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video” and “Daves I Know,” Massachusetts is a delightful favor from Ylvis to the Old Colony State’s tourism board. Except, of course, when it sort of takes a left turn into WTFville around the 3:45 mark.
