This story involves the intersection of Donald Trump and a morning radio show, so you know it is a high brow, erudite bit of business. As you may know, Trump has been in the news a bit recently, and has stirred up just a tinge of controversy along the way. As such, The Ben & Matt Show, an Arizona morning radio show on 102.5 KPIX, decided to hold a little contest: if you were willing to get a Donald Trump tattoo, they would give you country music concert tickets for a year.
Not only that, but the tattoo had to be on your lower back, so that the exceedingly clever pun “Trump Stamp,” replacing the common parlance of “tramp stamp,” could be used. Three people answered the call, before demurring and deciding against it. But then, a 38-year-old gentleman named Travis Gaardner stepped up to the plate.
Gaardner was quick to mention that he is not a supporter of Trump. “The only reason why I did it was for the concert tickets,” he said. “Any of ’em would do for me. I just like music.” Of course, while Gaardner is happy now, with a year’s worth of concert tickets on the horizon, after the year is over, and he still has a big tattoo of Trump on his back, maybe he will be less enthused. In the end, the real winners are morning radio listeners in the Phoenix area. As always.
