It’s been awhile since we’ve heard a peep from Frank Ocean. He’s on a well-deserved break from a busy 2012, a year in which he came out and came out with a great album, or at least he was, because now he’s back on the road. Last night in Munch, according to Consequence of Sound, Ocean “performed his first proper concert since September 2012,” and “debuted several new songs,” all of which sound like they could be on Channel Orange.
Ocean seems like the kind of guy who could pull a Neutral Milk Hotel and put out some great new music, then go on a self-exile for years, so any time you see a sentence with “Frank Ocean” and “new” in it, you should be happy. Then sad and despaired, once you actually start listening to the new Frank Ocean song.
