Jack White Is Down With The Clown, Collaborating With Insane Clown Posse To Cover Mozart

Jack White decided being in two bands after The White Stripes, founding a label, and being a producer wasn’t keeping him busy, so he did a collaboration with — who else? — Insane Clown Posse. LOL wut? Along with Jeff the Brotherhood, they’re releasing a single based on a piece Mozart wrote in 1782 called “Leck Mich Im Arsch.” (Translation: “Lick me in the arse”).

Here’s part of the official press release from White’s label, Third Man Records:

Understandably this piece [Mozart’s “Leck Mich Im Arsch”] has figuratively been swept under the rug. So who better to give this piece it’s due respect than the wildly successful, much misunderstood, and divisive Southwest Detroit rappers Insane Clown Posse?

With fellow Southwest Detroit-born Jack White at the production helm and musical backing by Nashville’s very own Jeff the Brotherhood, this 2011 version of “Leck Mich Im Arsch” marries Mozart’s melody (and lyrics sung in operatic German) with ICP’s poignant lyrical addition in English and Jeff the B’s monster-riffs, letting the whole thing tie together in the most beautiful of ways.

No. You don’t get to call these lyrics poignant. Just no. Not even ironically. GTFO.

The 7″ single and iTunes digital download of “Leck Mich Im Arsch” will be available for sale on September 13th. [Mark your calenders] One-hundred Tri-color versions of the single will be available from the Third Man Rolling Record Store at the MI Fest in Brooklyn, Michigan on September 17th and another 50 Tri-colors will be randomly inserted into mail orders dispatched by Third Man Records.

Yes, you read that right. 7″ vinyl singles of an ICP collaboration called “Lick me in the arse”. Will miracles never cease?
