According to Rolling Stone, Joe Perry collapsed backstage at a Hollywood Vampires show Sunday night and was transported to a nearby hospital after he lost consciousness. The supergroup, consisting of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and other members of rock’s elite, continued the show after Perry’s collapse.
According to Aerosmith fan site AeroFanatic, Alice Cooper addressed Perry’s absence to the crowd with the following statement.
“If you notice one of our brothers is not onstage with us, he was very sick before (the) show.”
Cooper also tweeted that the Aerosmith guitarist and rock legend was in stable condition.

Images have already appeared on various outlets of Perry sitting on the drum riser. According to reports, he got up mid-performance in a daze, and then made his way backstage where he collapsed, then was revived by paramedics. Photos have also showed Perry backstage and in good spirits before the show.
It doesn’t have to be said, but 2016 has already been a rough year for celebrities leaving us far too soon. Prince, David Bowie, Alan Rickman and others have all been lost, and Meat Loaf even collapsed onstage earlier this year. Hopefully, Joe Perry recovers in full and goes back to looking like the badass grandpa he is.
