Watch Korean Pop Star CL Bring The Undeniable Swag Of ‘Lifted’ To James Corden

South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper, and model CL recently released her English debut single, “Lifted,” and went on The Late Late Show with James Corden to punctuate the show with an electrifying performance, accompanied by a host of breakdancers. This woman has an electricity to her that indicates she is headed well beyond late night — she may seem unassuming at first but her swag is undeniable.

She kicked off the performance with her back facing the audience, and as soon as she dramatically turned around, she started rapping the line made familiar by the Rolling Stones: “Hey you/ Get off my cloud” and maintained her spunk for the rest of the live rendition while also demonstrating some finely tuned rap skills that included a sampling of Wu Tang’s “Method Man” and an infectious chorus. (Method Man also appears in her official music video for the track, which you can watch below.)

The 25-year old multilingual star, whose real name is Chaelin Lee, is also a member of the wildly popular K-Pop girl band 2NE1 and caught the eye of talent manager Scooter Braun when the band opened for Psy (whom Braun represents in North America).

Even Corden couldn’t resist joining in on her performance and you can watch him rap alongside her to the lines “I got myself a 40/ I got myself a shorty/ I’m about to go get lifted.” Watch her late-night performance above and if you love what you see — odds are you will — check out the official music video below.
