What a thoughtful guy, that Mac DeMarco. Between making goofy interviews and stellar albums, the Canadian artist sure knows how to make us smile.
Here’s another thing he’s done recently to cause us to gush: He whipped up a short EP called Some Other Ones that his Bandcamp page lists as a “BBQ SOUNDTRACK.” The nine-track project is all instrumental — it’s described as “Pop” and “Big Juicy Butt” in the tags — but totters along somewhere between chillwave and catchy-as-hell elevator music. It’s perhaps not what we’d consider spinning when grilling artisanal meats and organic produce, but it’s a magnanimous gift, nonetheless.
