YouTube master Anthony Vincent, the man behind the Ten-Second Songs series, has engineered a variety of inspired mashups of mainstream hits. He recorded several versions of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” and Eminem’s “Rap God” in single-volume strokes. He also delivered a similar treatment for “Bad Blood” in a variety of styles, which included a few moments of this version but did not indicate the promise of what was to come.
Now Vincent delivers a full-on, face-melting, heavy metal-style version of “Bad Blood” in the style of Disturbed. Do you remember those “if you like X, then you’ll love Y” perfume commercials from the late 1980s? Well, if you the dislike Swift’s original, then you’ll love Vincent’s version. Sure, Swift has a dedicated audience who will swim through shark-infested waters for her concerts, and that audience won’t appreciate this video at all. Instead of a passive-aggressive anthem, this version goes aggressive-aggressive and never looks back. You’ll never hear “Bad Blood” the same way again, and that’s okay. No disrespect to Kendrick Lamar.
