Donald Trump’s comments are hurting more than just his presidential chances, but one person whose not concerned is Eric Trump. Eric boasted to GMA that Trump brand is hotter than ever.
Eric’s words follow concerns that his dad’s rhetoric is impacting the people around him. Many Republicans are having trouble in their reelection races, and the chilling effect may extend to the Trump name. Bloomberg reports how tenants in Trump’s Manhattan’s Upper West Side apartment building want a name change, and Ivanka’s fashion line is seeing boycott action. But not all of the Trump clan is worried about dear old dad’s views. Eric said the brand is more popular now than it ever has been:
“I think we have the hottest brand in the world right now and I think buildings (International Hotel Washington like this are a testament to what we do every day.”
It’s a pretty confident statement. His father agrees with this, telling anchor George Stephanopoulos the Trump brand is great, but he doesn’t have time to worry about it, saying “I think the brand is hotter than it’s ever been but it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care. It doesn’t matter. I don’t care about the brand. I care about the country.”
The Trumps seem pretty chill about their brand. If they can sell $100 oyster cocktails, perhaps the election offset won’t hurt too much.
