With Breaking Bad (don’t spoil it! I didn’t watch the ending yet!) taking all the headlines tonight, we’re left with some unsexy news. So saddle up and make some coffee because we’re gonna talk about ‘puters.

Apple has surpassed Coca Cola to become the most valuable brand in the world according to the New York Times. The information comes from Interbrand, part of the Orwellian-sounding Omnicom Group, a company who ranks brands data according to market worth. According to the report, this is the first time that Coca Cola has been knocked off the #1 spot.

According to Omnicom’s report:

“Every so often, a company changes our lives, not just with its products, but with its ethos. This is why, following Coca-Cola’s 13-year run at the top of Best Global Brands, Interbrand has a new No. 1 — Apple.”

The computer company is worth $98.3billion – or roughly how much you’ll spend for a new laptop. Google, the search company, is in second place, bringing Coca Cola down to #3.
