This Silver Leotard Wearing Baton Twirler Was The Clear Winner Of His 4th Of July Parade

Try to feel anything other than pure, unadulterated joy watching this silver leotard wearing baton twirler bringing down the house at his local 4th of July parade. Just try it, I dare you. See? You can’t do it! The video was captured at the Monroeville, Pennsylvania 4th of July parade, not far from Pittsburgh, and posted to Facebook where it’s gone super viral over the past few days.

Showing off some seriously impressive moves, the twirler seamlessly transitions from “Johnny’s Mambo” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack to The Contours’ “Do You Love Me”… also featured on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. This dude clearly loves him some Dirty Dancing and I can definitely abide by that. (That head bop he does after “Watch me now, hey!” just slays.)

Shortly after the video went viral, the twirler was identified by Pittsburgh’s ABC 4 News as pharmacy technician David Peters, who told reporters that he’s been twirling since he was about seven years old. But these days his motivation for twirling is for his partner, who is currently battling throat cancer. He told ABC 4, “I get him to smile, and I get him to get out of the house and that makes me happy, seeing him happy.”

May he never stop twirling.
