This is pretty much exactly what Cleveland Cavaliers GM David Griffin had in mind when he traded for Timofey Mozgov early last month. After the seven-foot Russian blocks Michael Carter-Williams at the rim, watch Kyrie Irving leave a slick between-the-the-legs dish to LeBron James for a three-pointer early in tonight’s game between the Cavs and Philadelphia 76ers.

Poetry.
Mozgov has been an absolute godsend for Cleveland. He has the team’s best offensive and defensive ratings at 111.6 and 104.5 respectively, and has allowed David Blatt to implement a defensive scheme that best suits the rest of the Cavaliers roster.
This play is basically Mozgov’s impact in a nutshell – an effective contest at the rim that allows Cleveland’s dominant skill guys to play free-flowing basketball. Simple.
The Cavs lead the Sixers 24-15 at the end of the first quarter.
