LeBron James Could Miss His Second Return to Miami Tonight

After landing awkwardly on his right leg in the third quarter against Orlando Sunday, LeBron James could sit out against his former team the Miami Heat tonight. He managed to stick around through most of the final period of the 123-108 win over the Magic, and after the game, he spoke to Joe Vardon of the Northeast Ohio Media Group about the incident:

“Scary moment for myself, obviously,” James said. “I can’t get my foot up from underneath me. I was able to play through it, and obviously we’ll see how I feel tomorrow and we’ll go from there. I haven’t had one of those falls, I don’t know if it’s ever, but it’s been a pretty long time.”

Upon his initial return on Christmas day, his former franchise honored him with a heartfelt video tribute.

So far, LeBron has missed more games this season (11) than any other season of his career, including a two-week sabbatical that resulted in a more focused and re-energized LeBron who, without a doubt, has been the catalyst for the Cavaliers stellar play as of late. Cleveland is a dismal 2-9 without LeBron in the lineup this season, and according to NBA.com’s John Schuhmann, the Cavs are a minus-7.9 when he sits.

The Heat, of course, will be without Chris Bosh, who will miss the remainder of the season to treat blood clots on his lungs.
