Kobe Bryant Threw Down A Vintage Poster Dunk On The Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers may have lost to the Houston Rockets on Thursday night, but Lakers fans still got their money’s worth thanks to this throwback of a throwdown from none other than Kobe Bryant himself. Bryant’s play has taken a noticeable turn for the better over the past week or two, and he was in full Vino mode hammering in this dunk on young Rocket Clint Capela.

Yes, it would have been more fun for all involved if it was Dwight Howard on the receiving end of this poster, but Capela is an excellent defender for a 21-year-old. Howard’s reaction shot from the bench was pretty priceless — it’s like the face a parent makes when their three-year-old falls on their ass. “Haha, aww, poor kid. Heh.”

Most of all, we’re glad to see that Kobe’s retirement tour won’t be one long slog of embarrassingly bad performances. Kobe’s only dipped below 40 percent from the field in one of the past six games, averaging 18.8 points in that time.

He’s clearly enjoying what time he has left, as well, as you can see from this little dribble move he pulled on Trevor Ariza later in the third quarter:

And if Kobe’s got some more dunks in him, he’ll make some lasting memories for lots of fans over the rest of the season.
