Matt Barnes Won MVP Of Richard Sherman’s Star-Studded Celebrity Softball Game

Do you need a ringer for an upcoming softball game, but it’s been hard to acquire the services of a Major League Baseball player? We suggest you call a professional athlete from another sport: Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Matt Barnes.

The former defensive ace for the Los Angeles Clippers took part in Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman’s annual softball game at Safeco Field in Seattle over the weekend. It was a star-studded event, as it featured appearances from Russell Wilson, Jamal Crawford, Marshawn Lynch, Zach LaVine, Nick Young, Charissa Thompson, and even Kevin Durant.

There’s no word on exactly what Barnes did to earn the MVP award – it must have been something really impressive, because Lavine drove in Lynch for the game-winning run, and you’d expect a hometown guy to get the honor in a game like this – but it’s certainly a nice accomplishment. If you have more than three hours to kill and want to watch a celebrity softball game, here’s part one and here’s part two.
