Is “The Wolverine” a Rebootquel?

By 11.16.10

Hey, you know how studios are rebooting comic book franchises? Even highly successful ones like “Spider-Man?” Even though it’s basically the same thing as putting out a sequel? Yeah, Fox just broke new ground: “Wolverine 2” will feature Hugh Jackman and have a plot foreshadowed by the first movie by an incredibly disappointing post-credits clip, but apparently it will have nothing to do with “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

According to Darren Aronofsky, it’ll be called “The Wolverine” and is going to be, in Aronofsky’s words, a “one-off”. So basically everybody involved is going to pretend “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” has never existed and is not canon.

Waaaaay ahead of you, guys.
