Ghostbusters fans are easily the most yanked-around fanbases around. Sure, George Lucas has made a second career of dicking with Star Wars fans over whether there’ll ever be another Star Wars film, but only Ghostbusters fans have to deal with a constant stream of will-they-won’t-they BS…specifically over Ghostbusters 3. One day, Bill Murray says he’ll only do it if he’s a ghost and the next, he’s showing up at the Scream awards in full Ghostbusters costume. It’s enough to make you question everything, despite the film’s May production start date…wait, that’s uncomfirmed too? I think I’ll just sit in the corner and cry into my 25-year-old glass of Ecto Cooler.
Well, now we have some more possibly unfounded info, as Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Dan Ackroyd was interviewed for radio station WGN Radio Chicago and said they were looking at casting some new actors to join the movie, with Bill Hader and Anna Faris as “strong possibilities.” He also apparently mentioned Eliza Dushku and that Billy Murray and Sigourney Weaver would be back.
Now, all of this was emailed to the site by a Bloody Disgusting reader, so there’s no confirmation that it’s true. But then, we Ghostbusters fans have never needed confirmation to get our hopes up before, have we?
