Festo, despite the name, isn’t building party robots and isn’t an unusually jovial Master of the Universe. Instead it’s a seemingly innocuous lab dedicated to building robot arms to put even more people in Detroit out of work and other stuff like that, and they’ve invented a robotic arm that they claim is based off of an elephant’s trunk, if an elephant’s trunk happened to have an enormous freaking claw and look precisely like the main weapon of major foe/once-and-future-stepdad of Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus. But, as Levar Burton would say, don’t take our word for it! Here’s the video:
Sure, guys, that’s totally based on an elephant’s trunk, and not from an overwhelming desire to have the greatest Comicon outfit ever. You know, just like the guys at Vecna Technologies is absolutely, positively, totally named after some obscure Czech word that nobody has ever heard of, instead of, oh, we don’t know, a major villain in an incredibly popular D&D campaign setting. We totally believe you!
