Movie studios are continuing to jump on the “3D-will-instantly-make-our-movies-better” bandwagon, even if those films were never actually filmed to be in 3D. The latest rumored 2D to 3D change? The last two Harry Potter films, which are really just the last Harry Potter Book, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows which A) has too much plot to cram into one film and B) is too much of a cash cow for Warner Brothers to not release as two films. Now, I’m betting Harry’s final duel with Voldemort would look kick-ass in 3D, but only if they actually PLANNED FOR IT TO BE IN 3D. Oh, and the Clash Of The Titans remake was also shot in 2D and will be getting a 3D release, but chances are that’ll be a god-sized wreck even in its original 2D.
Also, the MarketSaw 3D blog is reporting that Ghostbusters 3 and Gremlins 3 will also be in 3D, which is the first we’ve heard of a third Gremlins film. Frankly, I feel Gremlins 2 answered most of the questions posed by the first Gremlins, especially the question “Would a Gremlins film ever get ridiculous enough to have a completely pointless and meta cameo by Hulk Hogan?”
The answer was yes.
