President Obama Took Some Time Out From A Golf Outing To Crash A Wedding

Weddings are meant to be memorable, but what happens if one of the most famous people in the world stops by? Is that something beyond memorable? I guess it depends on how you feel about the person, but if President Barack Obama suddenly walked over to your wedding, that would be pretty awesome, right? Much to his relief, it was awesome for the newly-minted Mr. and Mrs. Tobe, who had the commander-in-chief take a break from his golf game to crash the ceremony.

Brian and Stephanie Tobe got married at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in San Diego, where there also happens to be a golf course. President Obama was approaching the 18th hole — which was located right around where the ceremony was taking place — when he saw a wedding going on and figured that since he’s so universally well-liked, he could pay the guests a presidential visit!

Actually, the Tobes were the ones who approached Obama, who had finished his game and hung out with some passers-by on the green. The wedding party stayed in the lodge — you know, for the wedding — until they got the okay to go say hello themselves. And the president was more than happy to post for pictures, which were featured on the site of the wedding photographers, Jeff and Erin Youngren.

Everyone in the crowd sat hushed in iPhone-ready silence as the golf carts came to a stop, and the Presidential party started getting out to play. Then President Obama raised his hand and greeted the crowd with a giant smile, breaking the silence. We all cheered. (Internal freakin’ out is now quickly becoming external).

Oh, and also a couple of people got married that day! Congratulations, Brian and Stephanie Tobe!
