Ryan Reynolds Really Wants Deadpool And Wolverine In A Movie Together

Remember that scene from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where Logan fights Weapon XI, alternately known as “Deadpool”? Nope, because it never happened. Everyone, especially Ryan Reynolds, seems fine with ignoring the existence of Origins, and if Deadpool and Wolverine were to cross paths in a movie, it would be the first time they did so. Reynolds is very open about wanting to tussle with Jackman — when asked about Wolverine being in Deadpool (this was before the R-rated movie made all the money), he said, “God, I hope so, that would be really nice… It seems like he’s open to it.”

Jackman, who is “a hundred percent” certain Wolverine would beat up Deadpool, is equally interested, telling Yahoo, “Doing something with Ryan — he’s awesome. That’s always attractive to me. But I think you’ve probably got several other people lined up to play Wolverine.” That’s the problem: Jackman says he’s done with the X-Men franchise after next year’s Logan, which no one actually believes, but sure, whatever. Reynolds hopes he changes his mind.

“I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together,” Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly. “What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line. Hugh Jackman is one of the best human beings. Part of the reason I want to do a Deadpool/Wolverine movie is not just because I think the two would light the screen on fire but I genuinely love the guy.” Jackman has to get him back for the Polverine dig.
