We Have Some Questions About Arcade Fire’s Planned Restaurant

What does a person do once he or she has won a Grammy? Become buddies with Jay Z and notch a near-double-double in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game? Nope. You open up a Haitian-themed restaurant in Montreal, of course.

That’s exactly what Win Butler and his wife Regine Chassagne, both of Arcade Fire, are doing. Agrikol will “feature a music and art space in addition to ‘really authentic’ food and flavors.” Chassagne is of Haitian descent, and in recent years, Arcade Fire has helped raised a healthy amount of money to help the impoverished country.

While this all sounds wonderful, UPROXX has a couple questions about this new restaurant…

Like, will the waitstaff be donning papier mache masks and giant heads? That doesn’t seem all that safe, especially if they are handling food. I mean even making the bartenders wear them seems like a risky move.

There isn’t a bullsh*t dress code, is there?

Will the menu feature dishes like Joan of Accra (malanga fritters), We Won a Grammy Lambi (stewed conch), Arcade Fried Chicken, and Month of May-caroni au Gratin?

Please tell me the restaurant’s slogan will be Agrikol — good enough to start a suburban war of your taste buds.

The menu won’t be unnecessarily long will it… you know, kind of like Reflektor?

There won’t be a lame pricing plan for the food, will there? Like, you get this menu for “X” amount and this special menu for “Y” amount, when we can totally just look at a menu for free by looking over someone’s shoulder? Basically, I’m asking if the pricing will be set up like Tidal’s.

Finally, last question about the menu: Will it include Ready to Salt Cod Gumbo and Chestnuts? Because that would be fantastic.
