Carly Rae Jepsen Is Dropping ‘E•MO•TION Side B’ As An Anniversary Present This Friday

It’s been a year since Carly Rae Jepsen changed the game with her third studio album, E•MO•TION. On it, Jepsen — who was once feared to be a one-hit wonder after her massively popular “Call Me Maybe” launched a million tributes, including this gem from the 2012 U.S. Olympic swim team — proved she had staying power and was able to go in many new directions, dancing the whole time.

To celebrate the anniversary of E•MO•TION, which contained multiple hits including, “I Really Like You” and “Run Away With Me,” the Canadian singer has teased fans and let us know that this Friday, she’ll release a follow-up called E•MO•TION: Side B. Details have been scarce, but she revealed what is presumably the record’s cover — an updated version of E•MO•TION‘s album art. She tweeted yesterday, August 21: “Happy 1 year E•MO•TION! Your anniversary present is coming this Friday 8/26.”

Jepsen clearly has been busy, as she recently teamed up with British producer and composer Danny L. Harle for a dance track called “Supernatural” and has made several posts via her social media accounts from traveling abroad, where she has been focusing on writing and recording new music.

If it’s anything like E•MO•TION, fans can be excited to experience a diverse, upbeat, dance-able tracklist.
