Lil Wayne Cut His Set At The ‘High Times Cannabis Cup’ Short Because The Crowd Was Too High

You might expect a crowd full of stoners at a festival hosted by High Times magazine called the “Cannibus Cup” to be a little bit laid back. But then, you aren’t Lil Wayne. The rapper trashed the festival organizing mag and walked off stage just four songs into a planned hour-long set. According to one Instagram user who posted a clip of Wayne’s exit, it was apparently because the energy of the crowd wasn’t where Weezy wanted it.

In a clip unearthed by TMZ, Wayne attacks the festival and tells the organizers to never “ask [him] to do this sh*t again”. Check that out below:

High Times said they’re “baffled” by the whole thing in a statement to Pitchfork.

“We have no idea why, after a stellar performance by B.o.B, Lil Wayne suddenly ended his performance after just four songs when he was contractually committed to performing for an hour for the fans. We are truly baffled by why Lil Wayne would do this in front of thousands of Cannabis Cup attendees—in total disregard for his fans—and are awaiting an explanation from his team.”

It’s the latest in a series of strange events in Weezy’s world. First, the rapper nearly suffered another seizure and was forced to cancel a concert. Then, he was reportedly involved in an assault after the BET Awards. Of course, storming off stage isn’t going to help his financial situation, as American Express is also after Wayne for a whole grip of money.

Even if it didn’t fit a pattern for Wayne, it does fall in with what’s been a busy week for celebrity stage antics, with everyone from Father John Misty to Selena Gomez having a bit of a rough time.
