With August winding down and the end of summer fast approaching, we are now officially less than a month away from the start of fall. This means we should be expecting new music from The Weeknd any day now. Because as any Abel fan knows, the autumn season brings much more than just cooler temperatures, fall foliage, and TV show premieres.

The Weeknd just shared a snippet of the new music he’s been working on, just days after reports that he booked studio time with Daft Punk for a mysterious project. “The King of the Fall” posted the minute-long teaser of the unknown track on his Instagram and captioned the clip with a simple cat emoji. While there aren’t any recognizable lyrics to the moody track, aside from The Weeknd’s computerized harmonizing, we should expect the full song to be nothing less than fire based on his track record.

This new clip also follows earlier reports of a Justin Timberlake collaboration and news Abel was back in the studio with his XO day one collaborators who helped him craft his inimitable, yet popular sound. With this new snippet, it’s pretty clear Abel has something coming and it’s coming fast. Including his Trilogy compilation, both of The Weeknd’s past studio albums have been released between August and September.
