The team that will be putting together the Straight Outta Compton “sequel” about Tha Dogg Pound is slowly beginning to take shape. Daz Dillinger originally said Dogg Pound 4 Life will depict the lives of Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Daz and Kurupt, but he’s changing his tune a bit now. Just this morning, he revealed that the movie is no longer a sequel, and it’s going to focus on just Daz and Kurupt, the actual Dogg Pound.

This comes after the studio behind Compton, Universal, made it clear last week that they have no involvement in Dogg Pound 4 Life and there are no plans for a Compton sequel. Their statement was blunt, “At this time, there are no plans for a Straight Outta Compton sequel,” but really came as no surprise.

Even without the studio, Daz is going forward with his plans to make the movie and now has a big name attached… none other than 50 Cent. Daz told TMZ that, along with Jack Thriller, 50 expressed his interest in the project, and, while he announced no official role, 50 has made headway in Hollywood as both a producer and an actor.

Curtis himself hasn’t confirmed anything just yet, but, with the success of Starz’ Power and Southpaw, he could have the connections in Hollywood that would put the film closer to being a reality.
