Shaun Rogers of the Cleveland Browns was arrested for carrying a gun in an airport. I still find this less annoying than having to put all of my gels in those little plastic bags.
Rogers, who had been at the team’s suburban training facility in recent days taking part in a voluntary offseason program, was stopped at a security checkpoint on Concourse C when officials spotted a loaded .45-caliber handgun in his bag, police said in a statement.
He was arrested at 12:15 p.m. “without incident,” transferred to a downtown processing center and booked for carrying a concealed weapon, a third-degree felony. –Y! News.
Carrying guns at airports–loaded guns, even–is always a great way to get arrested. The Browns currently have no plans to discipline him, but since Rogers isn’t quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he’ll probably face some sort of penalty from the league either way. That’s probably an unfair comparison. The only loaded gun Roethlisberger ever carried around was in a ladies’ room in rural Georgia.
