De’Anthony Thomas Ruined A Teammate’s Ankles At Chiefs Training Camp

Do you remember when De’Anthony Thomas was at Oregon and he would routinely clown defenders with his spectacular mix of speed, balance, and agility? Once one of the most dynamic and entertaining players in all of college football, Thomas is now trying to make the transition from running back to wide receiver in the NFL. It’s not a surprising move, as Thomas was more of a factor in Kansas City’s passing game (23 receptions, 156 yards) than its running game (14 rushes, 113 yards, one touchdown) during his first season in the pros.

If the above video is any indication, Thomas shouldn’t have many issues with the transition to wide out. Thomas was matched up against Chiefs cornerback Phillip Gaines during training camp, and apparently decided that it would be fun to juke Gaines so ruthlessly that he flew in mid-air. It didn’t even look like Gaines got crossed up or anything, it just looked like Thomas juked him so ruthlessly that his only course of action was to dive in the opposite direction.

Maybe if Thomas can do more awesome stuff like this during the regular season, the Chiefs will be able to throw a touchdown to a wide receiver for the first time since December of 2013.
