Watch This California Congressman Painfully Sing ‘Meet The Mets’ After Losing An MLB Playoffs Bet

Nobody has ever enjoyed paying up on a bet after one of their teams loses. Today’s example of this comes from Adam Schiff, a member of the House of Representatives from California. Schiff is a big Los Angeles Dodgers fan, and as we learned from a speech he gave on the House floor, he made a wager with New York Representative Steve Israel, who is a New York Mets fan. The bet revolved around the NLDS series between the two teams, which the Mets won, 3-2.

The full terms of the bet aren’t clear, but one thing is obvious: since the Mets won, Schiff had to sing “Meet the Mets” on the floor of the House of Representatives. Schiff did this while wearing two Mets logos on his tie, and the entire time, the look on his face is spectacular – he looked like his car just got a flat tire on the middle of the highway. At one point, he even asks for some help in the form of his time on the floor expiring, and because Schiff is a good sport, he ends his time by saying that he’s really happy for the Mets, namely because he finds them more palatable than the New York Yankees.

This is, easily, the most entertaining thing to ever appear on C-SPAN.
