Friday night, at Bellator 145, Bellator MMA president Scott Coker made a huge announcement just before the main event. Despite their last bout taking place at UFC 5 back in 1995, Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock will meet for the third time, this time inside the Bellator cage. The contest is scheduled for the main event on February 19, 2016 in Houston at the Toyota Center. IS THIS REAL LIFE?

In addition to Shamrock versus Gracie III, Coker also set up the co-main event for that night. Former backyard brawler from the mean streets of Miami, Kimbo Slice, will face off against DaDa 5000. If that name sounds slightly familiar, DaDa 5000 is the mastermind behind Back Yard Brawls Extreme Fighting Series, the organization that brought us Battleship 1 – the bare knuckle fist fighting event that was supposed to take place on a boat in international waters. Sadly, Battleship 1 took place in a random warehouse due to rough seas.

I have to admit, I’m really interested in this card, in spite of – or maybe because of? – the obvious freak show set up. The combined age of the fighters in the main event at the time of the bout will be 101. Scott Coker is an insane mastermind genius that is ruining – and also injecting stupid fun into – the sport of MMA.
