If the season ended today, your top four would be Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame, and as grumpy as some people would be, that’d be so much fun and we would all love it so much once we actually had the games happening. But the season isn’t ending today, and the top four will probably change because college football is fun and difficult to predict.

Another thing that’s difficult to predict is exactly what Robby and Martin will talk about any given week on it me, college football. And this week was no different. We welcomed in Nicole Auerbach from USA Today, and there was some actual, real football talk!

We also discussed:

  • Travel horror stories.
  • ACC Coastal talk.
  • That Michigan State-Nebraska ending.
  • Is Deshaun Watson playing his way into the Heisman race?
  • These teams with good offensive line play rising to the top as the season goes on.
  • Will the Big 12 get left out of the playoff again?
  • The rise of the AAC.
  • Kickstarting a book about the Muschamp era at Florida written by Andy Staples and annotated by Spencer Hall.
  • How much better it is to have an early loss than a late loss (if you have to have a loss at all).
  • The underratedness of Dak Prescott and Greg Ward Jr.
  • Not letting Robby ever get fooled by Texas A&M again.
  • Giving the people what they want – a little Wake Forest shoutout.

As always, comments and tweets are always welcome. Subscribe to us on iTunes, too! You can find Robby at (@rkalland) and Martin at (@martinrickman). And Nicole is at (@NicoleAuerbach). Football is great and so are friends, but football is always better with friends.

Special thanks to the band Annabel for our intro and outro music. They’re really good. You should buy their music at their website or perhaps see them play a show some time.
