Danny Willett Won The Masters But His Brother’s Hilarious Tweets Stole The Show

Jordan Spieth had an absolutely awful back nine during the final round of the Masters on Sunday. After birdying holes five through nine and entering the final stretch with the lead, Spieth went over par on three straight holes. Specifically, he had a horrific effort on the 12th hole in which he hit into the water hazard twice and finished with a quad bogey.

The other side of the story, though, involves Danny Willett, who went five-under par for the day to win not only his first Masters, but his first PGA major. It’s noteworthy anytime that happens, but Willett got some assistance from his brother, PJ, who live-tweeted Sunday’s round in hilarious fashion.

Here are a sample of his best tweets in a long line of them. Like just about everybody else watching the Masters, Willett couldn’t help but comment on Spieth taking an eternity every time he lined up to putt:

But, of course, Willett was also tweeting support for his brother, who was as cool as could be during the final holes:

And then, there was the pure joy of realizing Spiether wouldn’t be able to catch Willett during the difficult final two holes:

Spieth’s collapse was truly difficult to watch, but this is a great moment for Willett. Thanks to his immediate family for providing the commentary.
