Austrian TV channel PULS 4 apparently loves the NFL playoffs, but it seems they might love creating pop culture-themed NFL playoff ads even more. They’ve previously done ads featuring NFL players in both Game of Thrones and Terminator styles, but this year…this year was an easy choice.
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but there’s a new Star Wars movie out in theaters that people seem to be paying attention to. So, to hype this weekend’s conference title games, PULS 4 gave us this Star Wars-themed commercial, which features quarterbacks Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Cam Newton and Carson Palmer all as they might be imagined in the Star Wars universe.
Brady and the Patriots being the leaders of the Dark Side was a layup.
Here’s Peyton Manning as an X-Wing pilot, just before his flight was intercepted.
Cam Newton as a Stormtrooper. The jet going down in the background was piloted by a distraught Seahawks fan sick of Cam’s me-first attitude.
And here’s Carson Palmer. Not even Star Wars can make him interesting.
How is Austrian TV so good at these ads, while we’re still stuck with Peyton singing about chicken parm and J.J. Watt curling pizza slices? It doesn’t seem fair. Do better, America.
