Tragically, the little girl who asked Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson to be her Godfather passed away, according to a post on Wilson’s Twitter account. On Tuesday, Wilson, who was visiting Seattle Children’s Hospital, posted an Instagram photo with him and a little girl named Ailynn. Per Wilson, Ailynn asked Wilson to be her Godfather, which he accepted. The relationship, while beautiful, was sadly short-lived. On Wednesday, Wilson posted a tweet that Ailynn had passed away:
My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to my goddaughter, Ailynn as she joins our Heavenly Father pic.twitter.com/4cYbcO01qv

Wilson’s message on Instagram stated: My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to my goddaughter, Ailynn, and her family, as she is now with our Heavenly Father. I know you’ll be swinging your 12 flag over Centurylink this Sunday sweetie.
Wilson’s been in the limelight a lot lately and not always for the best reasons. The Seahawks are 0-2 and on the receiving end of social media rants from angry parents, of all people. Wilson personally has received a lot of attention (and criticism) for his relationship with Ciara. But Wilson has done a lot of great things with his time, too. For one little girl, that meant making her happy in her final days.
