Olympic Fans Wrote ‘Sorry About Ryan Lochte’ Messages On Airport Walls While Leaving Rio

This is the final Ryan Lochte gunpoint/fleeing Rio/fabrication-related story you will read. It’s the final one we will ever write. Probably. Maybe. Actually, there will almost definitely be a new Lochte story before you finish your breakfast, so let’s not promise something we can’t deliver.

Anyway, there’s a wall at the Rio de Janeiro airport designed for people leaving the Olympics to leave a message in magic marker. As you can see in the above photo, many are taking the opportunity to apologize on behalf of Lochte, who did more damage to a foreign country as an American than your average character in a Fast/Furious movie.

That’s a nice sentiment, but nobody apologized for Hope Solo? Or for our basketball teams being too awesome for the world to handle? Or for our swimmers being part fish? Or heck, even for our Fast/Furious movies?

It’s surprising to learn that someone who came up with an idea of, “Bathroom wall graffiti, but on an airport!” saw their plan backfire.
