When you’re a kid, there aren’t many things better than getting a jersey of your favorite athlete for Christmas. There are hundreds of videos of this kind of thing happening, but every time, the pure joy that you see out of a child losing their mind always makes you happy.
This little girl had something like that happen to her. For Christmas this year, she got a Thomas Rawls jersey. The Seahawks’ running back was placed on the injured reserve last week due to a broken ankle, but this girl still reacted like she got the best gift ever when she pulled her Rawls jersey out of a bag.
Apparently, Rawls was really touched by the video. It’s probably been a rough couple of days for him, and after seeing this video, he made it a point to reach out to someone and organize a meeting with this young fan and her family.
Here’s what Rawls had to say on Instagram:
Thank you Sophie for helping me get out of my bed when I felt I had no energy, your video gave me so much life and I’m truly grateful of the opportunity of meeting you!! Your tears of joy were astonishing. When holding you our bodies shook with nervousness, we both squeezed even harder and that feeling..is a feeling We’ll never forget!!
While you can outwardly see how much this meant to the young fan, this looks like it really meant a lot to Rawls.
