#SNL40 Paid Tribute To Some Of Their Best Sports Sketches And It Was Excellent

They didn’t do it often, but when Saturday Night Live brought on athletes as guest hosts it generally had mixed results. Peyton Manning, for example, was very good—one of the better hosts during Season 32 of the show. But then there were guys like Michael Phelps and Jeff Gordon who, um, fell flat on their face.

Thankfully, Sunday night’s #SNL40 only looked at the best of the best, the creme de la creme of the sports world. Then they tossed in some of their more memorable sports clips for good measure.
