The Cardinals Are a Formidable Playoff Opponent

The St. Louis Cardinals did their best to lose the NL Central, falling to the Brewers 5-3 yesterday, but the Astros — who lost 3-1 to the Braves — refused to cooperate. The Cards are now the dominant favorite to win the World Series, by which I mean they'll lose three out of four to the NL West champion Padres.

It really is amazing that a team this bad is in the playoffs. It's like Kevin Federline getting into Stanford. What's the Vegas line for the Cardinals? 100 to 1? 500 to 1? A gazillion to 1? Hold on, let me look it up:  No fucking way. 10 to 1??? Poppycock. The other seven teams would have die in fiery plane wrecks for the Cardinals to have a chance, and even then I'd still make them an 8 to 1 longshot. Anybody who bets $100 on the Cards and actually wins should get a mansion made of golden pussy, not $1000.

What I'm trying to say is that I don't lke their chances.
