Kenny Powers Is Everywhere

1. Kenny Powers is on a car.

In celebration of the HBO series, the network will sponsor the #50 Chevrolet driven by T.J. Bell at DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway [on February 25]. The #50 “Eastbound & Down”/Make Motorsports Chevrolet features elements of lead character, Kenny Powers’ prized jet ski, with a purple and leopard-print scheme, as well as the likeness of the “legend” himself. I take umbrage with the block quote above not saying the name of Kenny’s Jet Ski, which is, of course, Panty Dropper. Where’s the attention to detail that I expect from NASCAR press releases? Also, about the use of the word “legend,” and how it’s in quotes: Kenny’s more of a “LEGEND” than T.J. Bell, who looks like the devil-child of Rex Ryan and Stevie Janowski, with a tribute to Julianne Moore’s performance in Short Cuts on his chin.

2. MFCEO Kenny Powers is impersonating Steve Jobs to sell K-Swiss’ Blade, “the fastest shoe you’ve ever seen.” I dunno, I once saw a man say goodbye to his shoe by throwing it out a door, and it was going pretty fast. After this final season of “Eastbound,” Danny McBride should do another Kenny Powers series, in which the former-pitcher begins his new career: pretending to be different CEOs. In the first episode, Kenny can be…scrolls through “List of CEOs” Wikipedia page…Chuck Rozanski of Mile High Comics. “FADE IN: Kenny Powers is in an airplane bathroom.” Practically writes itself.
