Jerry Seinfeld Tried Unsuccessfully To Make ‘Seinfeld’ Not Appear Dated

Jerry Seinfeld discussed the epic Seinfeld Hulu deal with Seth Meyers last night, in which every episode of the iconic series will soon be available on the streaming service — restoring the full network version, not the BS chopped-up versions you’ve been seeing in syndication — starting June 24. But because Jerry Seinfeld is a frugal businessman as well as a brilliant comic, he says that he’s long since seen this day coming, and as a result tried his hardest to make the outfits on Seinfeld seem not dated for future audiences, going way back when filming took place.

As it turns out, that was a fruitless effort. You mean that denim shirts tucked into denim jeans with a belt and sneakers wouldn’t always be a thing? As Jerry says, it’s impossible. “There (are) no clothes you can wear… the way we look right now, there’s nothing we can do, that in 10 years we don’t look ridiculous. There’s nothing we can do!”

So he’s saying that someday, at some point in time, I’m going to look back on having magenta hair with regret? I somehow find that hard to believe.
