‘Family Guy’ Takes A Shot At Donald Trump In The Show’s Emmy Consideration Art

Now that it’s all but official and Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for president and the Earth is set to fold inward onto itself any minute, let’s throw it over to Seth MacFarlane, shall we?

All kidding aside, MacFarlane decided to grab the wheel of the make-fun-of-Trump-train in a pretty clever way as he submits his Fox animated series Family Guy to the Emmys for consideration. The pitch comes with a DVD featuring some art displaying main character Peter Griffin colored a sweet-potatoed hue of orange, topped with a shock of not at all real-looking blonde hair and a caption that reads, “As long as we’re voting for dumb loudmouths, can I get an Emmy?”

Family Guy isn’t exactly an Emmy-favorite. Perhaps, as The Hollywood Reporter suggests, that may have something to do with its 2012 mailer to voters referring to them as “bloated, overprivileged, Brentwood Jews.”

Still, given the combination of the rampant lack of popularity of Trump and Hollywood being a rather liberal spot, maybe this tack will resonate with those same voters who MacFarlane went out of his way to insult four years ago. The first round of voting gets underway in a little over a month on June 13.
