Here’s A Taste Of The New Honey Boo Boo Song That TLC’s Lawyers Are Reportedly Trying To Block

I’m sorry, did you think that the mind-fire that is Honey Boo Boo and kin had been extinguished by a little controversy? Just four months after TLC (The Learning Channel) cancelled the super educational reality show following revelations about Mama June’s new boyfriend’s sex offender past, TMZ is reporting that the Boo Boo family is looking for a Phoenix-like rise from the ashes with a new show and a pop single from Honey Boo Boo child, which you can hear a snippet of in the above video from Inside Edition.

There’s one problem with these sizeable ambitions, though, the Boo Boos have a contract that runs through May:

Our sources say the network would ultimately take them to court if the family tries to make money before June. TLC has paid the entire family their money for the season that never aired, plus tutoring and health insurance.

So, why the urgency to get this out so soon, Boo Boos? Why not sit back, relax, and really hone Honey Boo Boo child’s sound through the spring?

If I had to guess, I’d say that the Boo Boo clan knows that their special kind of fame-by-way-of spectacle is a bit like a rope bridge and that their show’s cancellation severed the rope and triggered a fall toward the deep river of irrelevancy that they are trying to avoid by getting to surer ground as fast as they can. Or maybe I’m wrong and maybe this is the kind of sound that needs to reach the people; both a “song of the summer” candidate and a unification anthem that will sew tight the rifts that exist within the world. Yeah, I’m almost sure that’s what it is.
