It’s 3 AM at your local gym, and you’re busting a sweat — training those glutes and hammies for the inevitable time you’ll have to bend down in front of your attractive neighbor to pick up your copy of The Wall Street Journal. As you near the end of the H.I.T.T. inspired workout regimen you ripped out of a Muscle and Fitness magazine at Walmart, you notice someone moving towards you out of the corner of your eye. They brush past the lat pulldown, the preacher curl bench, and suddenly you realize that the guy from Grease is making a beeline towards you. What do you do?
If you’re Justin Jones, naturally you take a picture with the guy — John Travolta — and engage in a 15-minute conversation about the nuances of Welcome Back, Kotter. “‘Hi I’m John,’ he said. That’s exactly how it happened,” Jones told ABC News.
“I said, ‘Yeah, I know who you are!'”
Jones was working out at Planet Fitness in Ocala, Florida, when Travolta suddenly approached him and the two chatted like old chums. “He asked a lot of questions about if I was married and If I had kids. The time just flew by,” Jones said.
A quick selfie, an exchange of goodbyes, and the two parted ways, hopefully destined to meet again somewhere around the squat rack.
