This Frustrated Mom Is On Strike Until Her Kids Start Behaving Better

Here’s some news that will have parents everywhere saying, “Uh, you can just do that?” A North Carolina mother of two has gone on strike until her kids start behaving better.

Naasira Muhammad of Winston-Salem told WFMY News 2 that she’s done parenting because her children’s behavior is completely out of control. She says she’s given her two teenage daughters everything they could possibly want, and they’ve paid her back by acting out, even keying the family car. So if you need her — and you’re not one of her children — she’ll be parked outside her home with a “MOM ON STRIKE!” sign.

Muhammad says that conventional discipline methods like time-out do not work with her two teenage daughters.

“I’m to the point where I’m just so frustrated, so to keep my hands off my kids or to keep me from doing something crazy, I just decided to go on strike,” said Muhammad.

The kids’ aunt forced them to make signs of their own, which read “Thank you mom for providing for me, caring for me, and loving me.”

But Muhammad isn’t buying it. She says she’ll continue to picket until she truly feels her kids have learned to respect and appreciate her. “This is the only solution I can think of,” she told WFMY, “other than getting rid of my children.”
