Chipotle Is The Latest Fast Food Chain To Consider Home Delivery

Fast food delivery is becoming sort of a thing these days. While pizza has long been the delivery standard, fast food companies such as Taco Bell have shown interest in bringing fatty goodness right to your home, as well. According to Mashable, you can now add Chipotle to the mix of restaurants that are now offering door-to-door convenience.

Executives at fast food restaurant and burrito godsend Chipotle recently told investors in an earnings call that the chain was signing a deal with delivery-service Postmates to make the dream of burrito delivery a reality.

Postmates is a start-up food delivery service that is currently available in 67 high-population markets. Sorry, rural markets. You’ll have to drive for your daily cholesterol intake. It isn’t a non-profit, either, so they plan to make money on the transaction via hilariously high fees:

Del Rey attempted to place a Chipotle burrito order on Postmates (just for research, we’re sure) but found that delivery fees hovered over $11, bringing the total price of the food to a little more than $20. That’s one hefty burrito.

With all that said, this sounds like it will end up being great for Chipotle fans. Standing 19th in line while watching someone order has become tantamount to water torture. God bless the internet!
