Donald Trump Will Be Doing A Reddit AMA, Because How Could This Possibly Go Wrong?

On the heels on last week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, today it was announced that Donald Trump will participate in a Reddit AMA or, “Ask Me Anything” this Wednesday. In what can surely not be a coincidence, this falls right smack in the middle of the 2016 Democratic National Convention, the same day President Obama and Joe Biden are scheduled to speak. Because just when you think Trump’s campaign can’t get any weirder, he goes and outdoes himself.

The announcement was made via email to Trump supporters Monday morning, linking directly to the Donald Trump subreddit.

Reddit AMAs are a great way for celebrities to interact directly with their fans, but as we’ve seen in the past, these things have the potential to go horribly wrong. But what’s the worst that could happen between a thin-skinned former reality star and the internet at large?

The more likely scenario, however — as when Trump attempted this same exact thing with an #AskTrump Q&A at the Twitter headquarters last year — is that a mediator will likely cherry pick questions for the candidate to answer while conveniently ignoring the throngs of users who are trolling him. I guess we will have to wait to find out!
